Unspoilt beauty of Mayo

The unspoilt beauty of Mayo attracts walking enthusiasts from all over the world and there are walking trails on the very doorstep of Twin Trees Hotel and Leisure Club.

From the hotel, you can turn right and walk along River Brusna until it meets River Moy. Left takes you along the Moy and into Ballina Town. Follow the river to the right and you will walk towards the Quay and beyond.

Ballina Walks

You can join the Heritage Trail and delight in the history of Ballina. Each of the 3 Trails are 3km and take around 90 minutes to walk at a leisurely pace.

You can visit Belleek Forest Park or take in the sights of St. Muredach’s Cathedral, the ruins of an Augustinian Abbey or the curiosity of a concrete tugboat by the quay.

Out and About

Further afield, you can enjoy coastal and lakeside walks. Lough Levally close to Bofeenaun is a personal favourite. If you are feeling adventurous, you can conquer Nephin which rises over 800 metres above Lahardane.

From the village, you can walk to Addergoole which rises and slips into Lough Conn.

The wonderful strand of Enniscrone is a short drive from the hotel and boasts over 5km of golden beach.

A longer drive will take you glorious walking routes of Belmullet, Broadhaven and Achill island.

The county is yours to explore.

On the way, you can stop for lunch in any of the fine pubs and restaurants that Mayo has to offer.

There are walks for everyone. Just remember to pack your walking boots.
