Sacre Bleu! It’s the French Mayo Festival
This August sees the inaugural French Mayo Festival take place in Ballina, Co. Mayo.
The two-day festival takes place on the last Friday and Saturday in August (26th – 27th), and aims to build on the unique historical connection enjoyed by Mayo with France, which dates from the landing of General Humbert in Kilcummin, near Killala, in 1798.
Organised by Ballina Chamber, the festival showcases the music, food and culture of the France and Mayo.
Come and watch the pageantry and sample a taste of France along the Wild Atlantic Way.

12pm – 6pm: French Mayo Session Trail – a day of traditional music in a number of venues in Ballina Town Centre. All trad music groups and individuals are welcome to come along and join in the fun!

Kilcullen’s Seaweed Baths has been open for business in Enniscrone since 1912 offering hot sea water seaweed and steam health baths.
If the little ones are bursting with energy bring them to Ireland’s largest indoor play centre with a huge array of bouncy castles, climbing frames and obstacle courses.
Take to the water with the latest craze – surfing. There are great surfing locations in the region including Enniscrone and Easkey.
A short 20 minute drive there is a 10 pin in door bowling alley that has 15 lanes. Each lane has an A.M.F fully computerised graphic scoring system and automatic kiddy bumpers.
