Síamsa Sráide means fun in the street. It is a movement, not just a festival. The festival activities promote Tourism, History & Heritage, Environment, Arts and Crafts, Music, Youth, Gaeilge, Sport and Enterprise. Síamsa Sráide has raised the profile of this vibrant East Mayo town thus making it a potentially inviting designation all year round. The product name Síamsa Sráide, clearly distinguishes it and verifies its Irishness and ethos.
This year, the Síamsa Sráide Swinford festival takes place from Friday 4th August 2017 to the 9th August 2017. The Siamsa Sráide programme includes a variety of events such as Historical Lectures and Walks, Open – Air dancing nightly to Irelands Big Bands, Crossroads Ceílís, Celebrity and Arts Concerts, Folk & Jazz & Traditional groups on street. Street market stalls on Emigrant, Heritage, Craft & Enterprise day and Traditional old Fair Day.
One of this years Síamsa Sráide Swinford highlights is the spectacular Siamsa Séipéil , a concert featuring Frances Black & Kieran Goss in Swinford Parish Church on Friday August 4th @8pm, Tickets €25.
International Busking Competitions which boasts highest prize fund in Ireland. Síamsa Sráide runs six children’s workshops free of charge which take place a week before the festival i.e. Creative Dance, Drumming, Amhranaíocht Gaeilge & Traditional music classes in Harp, Banjo, Violin, Bodhrán & Tin Whistle.

The 2017 Mayo Manchester Tradfest takes place from Thursday 3 August to Wednesday 9 August in North Mayo. The festival is a celebration of traditional Irish music, incorporating the following: Gala concerts, Heritage days, Sporting events, Tradfest concerts, Business events, over 500 performers and 71 events in total throughout North Mayo. Most events are free of charge
A short triathlon-type race which includes a 100m swim around Belderrig Harbour and then a 4km cycle and a 4km run through the village of Belderrig. The race is open to both men and women over the age of 16 who are up for the challenge.
Hosted by Baile and Chaisil Cycling Club the Giro follows a wonderfully scenic course from Ballycastle Village right along the North Mayo Coast cycling right into the heart of Erris. Glancing around you will see the rugged coastline of North Mayo with Céide and the Stags of Broadhaven in the distance. The ride is not a race, it’s a chance to enjoy a challenge with like minded people with spectacular views through out the routes

Foxford Riverfest is a fun, family activity, fishing and nature Festival in Foxford. Celebrating all aspects of the River Moy and the Moy valley, this unique Festival now in its Fourth year is attracting both national and international visitors. Many of the overseas visitors who came in the first two years because of the angling attractions, including the hugely popular National Open Spey Casting Competition, have realised that the area has a huge amount to offer, and are now returning with friends and family. 2017 promises to be a packed program.
